So what is Variations?

Variations is our production exclusively for first-year students; it is written by first years, the production team are first years and the whole cast are first years. They take existing stories or characters, mash them up with songs from musicals and create an amazing production out of them - just ask any current 2nd or 3rd years, all of whom highlight Variations as their greatest uni experience so far!

Why Marvel vs. DC?

What’s one of the biggest genres in film at the moment? Comic book, superhero films! Everyone knows at least one superhero because the characters are so prevalent in pop culture. The characters presented in both Marvel and DC Comics make great characters within a musical because they are so much fun (making for great jokes and comic moments) and the layers and depth of heroes and villains mean we can create really interesting plot points and relationships within the show. With some unexpected twists in store this show is sure to appeal to a wide audience and will make an exciting and unique musical!
