The MTS calendar is stuffed full of events so we wanted to take the chance to look back on everything that went on last year, not only for current members to reminisce on all of the fun that was had, but for future members to get a glimpse of what is to come.
In no particular order....
#1 - RHOSCARS 2016

One of our faves from the last 12 months... The MTS gang taking on RHOscars in style. Once a year, in the Summer Term, all of the Performance Societies get glammed up and come together to celebrate all of our achievements over the year. Definitely one to remember!
#2 - Committee Take on Freshers Fair 2015

With just over a month to go until Freshers Fair 2016, heres a look at what our Committee got up to in the run up to last year's event. Make sure you come down and say hello to us on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th September 2016 for an introduction to all things MTS (and any other society you fancy for that matter)!
#3 - Feeling the love

Another one from Welcome Week 2015. We are very proud of our connections with other Performing Societies on campus, here are 3 of their Presidents (including our very own Pippa) at our inter-society barbecue which will be repeated this year!! Watch this space for more details! We love being part of A Night At The Theatre in the Autumn Term because we get to put on a show with the other societies who love performing just as much as we do!
#4 - Variations: Not Another High School Musical

Each year we are lucky to be joined by a whole new group of people and we love meeting them all and welcoming them into our MTS family. In the Spring Term they really get to show us all what they are made of when they write, direct, choreograph, design and perform a show in our First Year Show, Variations. Previous productions have included Friends The Musical, Hunger Games The Musical and last year's extravaganza, Not Another High School Musical. Next year it could be you!
#5 - MTS takes on Jane Holloway Hall

As well as our shows in the SU Main Hall, we have the use of Jane Holloway Hall... A (reportedly) haunted, former swimming pool which is now a lecture theatre by day and a performance space by night. Last year the cast and crew of Rent used it to put on show to remember!
#6 - Summer Cabaret 2016

At the end of every year we find ourselves saying goodbye to members who have come to the end of their university adventure and are ready (-ish) to take on the big wide world. As the name would suggest, MTS Summer Cabaret is a mishmash of all things Musical Theatre and here is a beautiful moment from our rendition of Lothlorien from Lord of the Rings.
#7 - Into the Woods we go...

Here is the fabulous Into the Woods cast singing their heart out in our Autumn Term Show last year. If you want to be part of this year's fun, stay tuned to see how you can get involved with Bring It On, either on stage or behind the scenes!
#8 - There's more to MTS than being on stage!

As well as our packed calendar of shows, MTS is proud to support various charities through different fundraising events. Last year our Secretary Molly danced solidly for 24 hours and smashed her target of raising £1,000 for the Mental Health Charity, MIND. We are so proud of her for this amazing achievement and for her nomination for a the Best Campaign at the 2016 RAG Conference!
#9 - Sharing the Christmas love!

To spread some Christmas cheer we take part in the campus-wide effort for Love in a Box to give those in need a package of much needed supplies. Here are some of our members packing some boxes ready to be sent out!
#10 - Weekend Show 2016

We like to set ourselves a challenge here at MTS, as if putting on a show in a term wasn't hard enough we choose to up the pressure. Every year we come together to rehearse and put on a show in just 3 days! Weekend Show is an excellent opportunity to get involved without the commitment of a Main Term Show and is unauditioned so everybody can have a piece of the action.
Well... that's it! A whistlestop tour of all things MTS over the last year for members new and old. We hope you enjoyed it!
