MTS Brought It On in style!

Bring It On is over (*crying face*) and what an absolute ball we have all had. Packed audiences gathered to witness the fruits of the cast and crew's labour, and everyone was completely entranced by the theatrical spectacle that beheld them.

Featuring an unconventional yet highly effective usage of the SU Main Hall space (with the cast on floor level and the band on the stage), this enabled aerobatic and rigorous dance routines to be the centre of attention. Not one audience member failed to be amazed at some of the cast's impressive acrobatics! Choreographer Dana Hudson commented, "I had high hopes for the movement in this production, and not one cast member let me down. Everybody gave 100% and flourished beyond anything I could ever imagine!".

The cast were accompanied by a live band led by Max Harris, Musical Director - the band were so accomplished and impressive, at times it was difficult to believe that every single piece of music was absolutely live! Additionally, the cast's stunning vocal harmonies led to an outstanding overall musical aesthetic. Max, also Vice President of the society commented, "Not only were we blessed with an incredibly talented and dedicated cast, but the live band were simply outstanding, one of the best I've ever worked with. I cannot thank everyone enough for their hard work in putting this amazing spectacle together!".

MTS proudly gave debuts to no less than nine cast members in this production, featuring second years Shakira Taylor-Knight as Danielle and Anna Tammela as La Cienega, and first years Ciara Murphy as Campbell, George Lambourne as Randall, Kaid Miller as Twig (who took lead roles in her first ever term at university!), as well as Alicia O'Neill, Emily Bradbury, Katherine Fry and Jennie Brunskill as ensemble members. All nine waxed lyrical about how included and welcome they felt with MTS, and we really cannot wait to see what they get up to in the future with us.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the hard work of the Director, Lucy Carruthers. Lucy's incredible vision, passion and enthusiasm for what she does made sure not only was the show as great as it possibly could be, but everyone felt invigorated to be involved - for this we are incredibly grateful to her.

With one highly successful production now sadly behind us, who knows what's next for MTS? Keep your eyes peeled on this website and our Facebook page for exciting news to be announced in the coming weeks. For now, it's all systems go for Christmas Concert, our annual festive extravaganza, this year bigger and better than ever in Stumble Out on December 8th. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
