What exactly is MTS?

It's all very well and good us telling you why MTS is amazing and why you should absolutely sign up and come along to our events, but it's probably also useful for us to tell you exactly what we're all about!

So here are 5 things you should know about Royal Holloway Musical Theatre Society:

1. We are one of the biggest societies on campus with over 100 members and a packed schedule of events!

2. It's not just about shows! Throughout the year we also host workshops, socials, fundraisers and volunteering opportunities for our members. We also organise trips to West End shows with the chance to chat to the cast afterwards. We also go along to the Performance Societies Boat Party, the Societies Ball and Royal Holloway's very own awards ceremony, RHOscars!

3. But we do also do lots of shows... a huge inter-society showcase called A Night at the Theatre, two auditioned Main Term shows (the first will be Bring it On which will be holding auditions at the end of September - stay tuned on their Facebook page for more info!), a Christmas Concert, a show created and performed purely by first year students, an informal concert where members can perform a song of their choice and last but absolutely not least, Summer Cabaret, the pièce de résistance where we get to show off everything we have to offer at the end of the year!

4. We really are a family. Moving away from home for uni can be scary so it is so nice to have a group of people who have something in common and share your love for all things musical theatre! Because we work so closely together you really do become like a huge, loving (and sometimes dysfunctional) family.

5. We have onesies... need we say anymore? MTS branded clothing is available here, we will be having a special ordering period at the beginning of term so don't miss out!
