ANATT 2016 - Exciting info!

ANNOUNCEMENT TIME!

Following the release of A Level results on Thursday (if you'll be joining us in September, we can't wait to meet you!), it is our pleasure to announce the numbers MTS will be performing at this year's production of 'A Night At The Theatre'!

The two songs we will be performing are:

Candy Store - Heathers Can You Feel The Love Tonight - The Lion King (inspired by Disney's On The Record, featuring 4-part harmony)

So what is ANATT? Well, it is the only inter-society performance event that takes place throughout the year, which means we collaborate with our friends at societies such as Shakespeare Society, Drama Society, Dance Society, Absolute Harmony, Gospel Choir and Savoy Opera Society to put on one wonderful showcase in the Main Hall of the SU! A highlight of the academic year not to be missed, we cannot wait to perform these two wonderful songs in front of a packed audience for three nights. If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to email us on mts@su.rhul.ac.uk.

Do you fancy yourself as a director or choreographer? We are opening up applications to direct and choreograph for our participation in this year's ANATT - we require a staging director (which will involve blocking and a small amount of movement direction) for our performance of 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight', and a choreographer for our performance of 'Candy Store'. The role of choreographer for 'Candy Store' will come with added responsibility, as you will be taking charge of teaching a small dance section at the MTS taster session during Welcome Week!

If you are interested in either of these two roles, please send in a short application to mts@su.rhul.ac.uk detailing why you think you would be the perfect fit for the job - applications close on September 1st. Unfortunately we are unable to consider applications from incoming first years at this stage, however applications for the Creative Trainee Scheme are now open! Are you an incoming first year student with a passion for directing, musically directing or choreographing? Then we have the ideal opportunity for you!

This brand new scheme, aimed exclusively at first year students will run throughout the year, and looks to recruit passionate and committed students looking to be part of a production team, to assist in the running of all of our inclusion events. We are looking to recruit our first batch of trainees for ANATT, and we need an Assistant Director, an Assistant Musical Director and an Assistant Choreographer.

If you are interested, please email a short application to Max (Vice President) on mts@su.rhul.ac.uk, detailing your performance experience and why you think you would be perfect for the role. If you don't have experience though, don't worry - the exact purpose of the scheme is to give you the experience in the first place!

Applications will close on Sunday 2nd October, so you can have the opportunity to come to our taster session during Welcome Week to see what we're all about, and talk to us at the freshers fair for more information. Any questions please do contact us, and best of luck!
