We are already over halfway through term one (?!?!??!) so I thought I'd post a little update on how you can use all of your MTS fun from the last 7 weeks to help you apply for jobs or roles within the performing arts world at Royal Holloway!!
Next Monday there is a huge Non-Performance Careers event in London called Theatre Craft which is a huge event where you can find out about all the different career possibilities which happen 'behind the scenes' in theatres. Although we cannot organise a trip to this as there is just too much going on at this time of year, there is nothing to stop you and your MTS (or non-MTS) buddies going along to see what it's all about. It will be running from 9.30am until 4.30pm in the Waldorf Hotel, this Monday 14th November, and you can find out more and sign up on their website.
The second exciting careers update is that we will be holding a careers panel before the end of term (stay tuned for more details soon!). This will be an opportunity to find out out more from people at all stages of a career in the performing arts and get some helpful advice about where you can go next!
But until then there are still things you can be doing with us at MTS to boost your CV, keep an eye on our Facebook page Feel free to talk to anyone on committee about the stuff you've done with us and how you can use it to help you get jobs. Also go and talk to the Careers Service on campus, they will be able to point you in the right direction! At the beginning of next term we will be holding a careers event with the Careers Service that will help you put the fun you have with us at MTS to good use in your career, whether that be inside the world of performing arts or elsewhere! Please let us know what sorts of things you want to get from us and the careers service, we make these events for you so we want them to be as beneficial as possible!1
That's all for now!
