Choreographer needed!

Every February, Dance Society put on their annual showcase and for the past few years, they have been kind enough to ask MTS to participate by contributing a number. Their theme this year is 'Movies Through The Ages', and have asked us to come up with a dance number that fits with this theme! Show dates are Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th and Monday 6th February.

Not only do we want as many of you to participate in this as possible, but we need someone to choreograph it! It's very much the choreographer's job to run the rehearsals, which will take place on the evenings of the two Wednesdays and Thursdays before the show, from 6pm-8.30pm (25th/26th Jan, 1st/2nd Feb). So not a very long rehearsal period to commit to, but guaranteed MTS joy!

If you're up for a bit of choreographing, what we need you to do is choose a song FROM A MUSICAL THAT HAS BEEN MADE INTO A MOVIE, and send in a quick application to mts@su.rhul.ac.uk saying what your choice of song is, why you think it would be a great number in Dance Soc's show and why you think you'd be a great choreographer for it! It really is that simple. If you're unsure of whether your song meets the criteria, just drop us a quick message and we'll advise! The song will be performed to the soundtrack recording on the night, there will be NO LIVE VOCALS from the performers, just dancing!

We cannot emphasise enough what a fantastic opportunity this is if you want to gain a bit of production team experience, maybe you're interested in being on a bid team for a show in the future? Or maybe you want to be on committee next year, if so this would be great for you to see things from an organisational and creative perspective. ANYONE AND EVERYONE is welcome to apply, irrespective of what year you are in and your past experience with MTS! We must emphasise also that any participation in this will absolutely not affect your participation in either of our two shows next term, Marvel vs. DC or Spring Awakening.
